Thanks Philippe. I totally agree that integrating and being able to choose from and see the benefits of previous stages is important, as in spiral dynamics. I’ve come across fans of Laloux who can sometimes reject hierarchy and structures altogether, for instance, which I don’t think is helpful.

I think Julian’s work differs from Laloux’s in that he’s more charting the three eras of work as he sees them and what the primary source of advantage has been in each, rather than the evolution of human consciousness. I like what you’re saying about integrating hands, head and heart —also reminds me of Theory U and the ‘open mind, open heart, open will’ thing.
