Nice idea. I know at self-managed finance company Viisi they have been doing something like this during the pandemic. Here's what Tom van der Lubbe told me:

"Employees are invited to share their status using a traffic light system – red, amber or green – in terms of how much work they’re able to do. For employees whose spouses work in so-called “essential professions” (hospitals, supermarkets, the police or army) there’s no expectation that they work because they are likely preoccupied with childcare and other priorities. Of course, those people tend to do work anyway after they put their children to bed driven by a strong desire to help their colleagues. The amber category is for colleagues who can work at 50% because they have to share taking care of the kids at home, as both parents work, and the green category is for those who can work normally."
